One week and a moth away from the start date, hopefully I
have done enough training to complete the race in my planned time. For me it
always feel if I could have done more, if ever you can do enough training for
the Freedom Challenge........
I now only need to keep focus on the last month's training,
however it's getting more difficult by the day, it might be the dirt roads
that's in very poor condition. You know the condition is very bad when a bakkie
is unable to over take you on a dirt road, I now mostly stick to friendly
farmers jeep tracks, I don't get the desired distance but a do get a 100% peace
of mind and there is no swearing involved.......
At least I don't have any second thoughts about making it
happen, I just need to push as far as possible every day......
Hopefully I would be able to blend into the race as the
"trapsiekie" on my sponsored shirt, I last saw one in my teens.
Only time will tell what I would be able to accomplish, I
have leaned from the past that it's good to set yourself a target, just don't
cast it in stone, because the Freedom Challenge will destroy it.......
The other very important thing I had to learn was that you
just can do it on your own, you need the Lord's blessing and you need to thank
Him with every peddle stroke for giving you the opportunity and making it
possible to take part in the event.
My accomplishment in the race will depend on His will and
what He think is best for me.
You also can not do it without the blessing of my wife and
children, and luckily I have got 100% from them, we have however decided as a
family that this will be my last Freedom Challenge till one of them decide to
do the race and that might only happen in another six years time.
I have set my goals, I have done the training, now I will
have to make it happen........
